Saint Peter Enthroned

An elegant patinated bronze sculpture depicting Saint Peter Enthroned created in the 19th century as a faithful reduction of the celebrated monumental statue attributed to Arnolfo di Cambio, preserved in St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City and dating to around 1300.

The Saint is portrayed according to the traditional iconography, seated on a throne with his right hand raised in the gesture of blessing, while his left hand holds the Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, the symbol of the apostolic authority bestowed upon him by Christ. The radiant halo, solemn pose, and medieval-inspired modeling lend the composition a profound devotional character and significant historical and artistic value.

The finely cast patinated bronze figure rests upon an elaborately carved white marble throne, which in turn stands on a polychrome marble base decorated with geometric motifs.
