Gilt Leather Wall Hanging

Gilt leather of the highest quality, the embossed panels are finely perforated in the brown rear bottom. A rich decoration presents the symbolism of water, connected by foliage. Around the shell in a central position a combination of shells, snails, trumpet-shells, corals and trident, the attribute of Neptune. This central composition is flanked on both sides by the caduceus symbol of Mercury, above there are cornucopias, which. together with fishing and hunting gear symbolize the flourishing trade, the allegorical meaning of the model becomes clear.
